NASS welcomes the news that the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) has published advice that golimumab (Simponi®) is now accepted for use within NHS Scotland.
This sits nicely alongside the NICE recommendation for the use of golimumab in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It means the treatment is now available for use in adult patients with severe, active AS who have not responded adequately to conventional therapy throughout the UK. For more information please visit the Scottish Medicines Consortium or the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence.
