One of our NASS members has kindly offered to pay for a year of private physiotherapy sessions for a NASS member who is unable to access physiotherapy through either a NASS group or the NHS.
Gareth has a private physiotherapy session each week himself and one day he was thinking how much harder living with AS would be if he couldn't afford to have these sessions. He then very generously called NASS to offer to pay for two private physiotherapy sessions each week, for a year, for a NASS member who is currently unable to have physiotherapy either through the NHS or via NASS.
The conditions would be that:
- You are a NASS member
- You have a diagnosis of AS from a UK rheumatologist
- You are based in the UK (including Northern Ireland)
- You have only been offered one off or occasional physiotherapy sessions with an NHS physiotherapist
- You don't have access to a local NASS group (you can check this by going to the NASS near you page on the NASS website
- You are struggling with your AS at the moment and feel that regular physiotherapy sessions could really make a difference to you
If you would like to apply for physiotherapy funding then please apply in writing to Sally Dickinson, our Information Officer giving full information about yourself and your circumstances and explain why you think private physiotherapy sessions would benefit you and your life.
We do want to give NASS members who don't have access to the internet the opportunity to apply for these sessions and therefore we are going to leave the application deadline open until 9am Monday 28 November 2011. This will give us the opportunity to make people aware of the offer through the autumn edition of AS News.
If you want any more information on the offer then you can call or email Sally Dickinson.
