The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy held a Workout at Work Day on 8 September 2011.
Events took place across the UK on 8 September, with more than 150 physios going into workplaces to show people easy ways to get more exercise into their daily lives.
It received the public backing of public health minister Anne Milton, who said ‘Well done to physiotherapists for running this campaign.'
‘We know we need to do more exercise, but with busy work lives it's not always easy,' Ms Milton added.
‘Simple things like walking up stairs instead of using the lift or getting off the bus a few stops earlier can make a big difference.'
Politicians, including Labour MPs David Lammy and Debbie Abrahams got involved by tweeting photos of themselves walking up stairs and doing other activities as part of their working day.
