Two week residential programme at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (aka “the Min”) in Bath on how to

manage AS

Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Disease, BathThis course has been running successfully since 1992: NASS members who have been on the course think it is very special and describe it as life changing.  It is designed to give you the skills to self manage your condition and improve your quality of life. 

 

This course involves education, exercise, pain management and networking with other individuals with AS. An expert multidisciplinary team deliver an intensive programme of physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, advice and education on the condition and its symptoms, including pain and stiffness, reduced mobility and function, and other aspects of living with AS. The team also provides advice and guidance on work related issues and where appropriate support to keep people in work.

Accessing the AS Course

Patients can be referred to the course by their Consultant Rheumatologist or from their GP to a rheumatology consultant at the RNHRD to be assessed for their suitability for the course.
