Our Impact in 2019

NASS has been changing the lives of people living with axial SpA (AS) for more than 40 years and is proud of its achievements in 2019.

Did you know that in 2019 NASS:

  • Helped ensure that axial SpA (AS) got the attention it deserves among policy makers and politicians by establishing the first All-Party Parliamentary Committee on axial SpA (AS)?
  • Encouraged and recognised improvements in axial SpA (AS) care by launching the Aspiring to Excellence programme, with six rheumatology teams joining in the first year?
  • Supported people to claim almost £700,000 in benefits that were owed to them?
  • Found new and innovative ways to help people live well with axial SpA (AS), including launching a series of 11 exercise videos?

Meet our community

We couldn’t do our life changing work without our community of health care professionals, fundraisers and volunteers.

Watch our impact video to meet some of the people who helped us change the lives of people living with axial SpA in 2019.

Thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who supported our work over the last year, to our small but incredibly dedicated and hard-working staff team, as well as our trustees and our thousands of members. Collectively these people make NASS and enable us to achieve so much.
