Who we are
Our branch is a very supportive and friendly self-help group with members ranging in age from 18 to 80.
All exercises can be performed at a level to suit your ability - a trained physiotherapist is on hand to provide support and answer questions.
What we do
Sessions comprise a warm-up routine, cardiovascular work, targeted exercises, then cool-down and stretching. Gym sessions last for an hour and hydrotherapy sessions for 30 minutes.
How to find us
Our Branch Development Officer visited NASS Woking and Weybridge in February 2016.
The branch has been running very successfully for 13 years. They have a hydrotherapy session on the first Tuesday of every month and on the other weeks they have the use of the hospital gym.
AS specialist physiotherapists, Jesal Patel (JP), Natalie Fearn, Lauren Betts-Bucke and Caroline Tripp are in attendance every week to encourage and guide the branch members through the exercise session. It's fantastic to see how committed the physiotherapists are to helping the branch members achieve their aims. They are all so supportive and always ready to answer any questions.
The gym session starts with a warm up, followed by cardiovascular work on the cross trainers and exercise bikes, moves on to targeted exercises and then there is a cool-down and stretching session.
NASS Woking and Weybridge members are very friendly and keen to share their great sessions with new faces. If you want to give it a try, you'll find the branch at St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey every Tuesday.
