Walk with us, Walk for AS – September 2020

September will see the launch of our new sponsored walk campaign – Walk with us, Walk for AS. We hope that people right across the UK will join in, working (and walking!) together to fund a different future for people with axial SpA (AS).

Two ways to join in:

Walk with us in Richmond Park, London on 19 September
COVID-19/Coronavirus allowing, we are holding a sponsored walk in Richmond Park on Saturday 19 September, with options to walk either 3 miles or 7 miles through the beautiful park, and perhaps spot a few of the park’s deer and parrots along the way.

There will be a £10 entry fee (£5 for concessions and under 16s), and then we ask walkers to raise as much as possible in sponsorship for NASS to help us be there for everyone with axial SpA (AS) every step of the way.

Due to the current situation, we ask you to email us to let us know you are interested, and then nearer the time when we are confident the walk will definitely go ahead, we will be in touch to ask you to complete an entry form.

Walk your way
With this option, you are in charge – you can choose the route, the distance, the date and of course, who to walk with.

You might want to take on a circular route around the area you live in, take on a mountain, or simply do laps of your local park. Whether you walk 1 mile or 100 miles, you’ll be joining with the NASS community, and walking with us, walking for AS.

We know that for some people with AS, walking long distances can be tough, so hopefully this option means that you can decide on an appropriate challenge, pick the time of day you usually feel best, and with the support of others, achieve great things.

If current restrictions are still in place in September
If the current restrictions are still in place come September, we would still love for you to Walk your Way for NASS, but it may be that you need to split your walk into hourly daily chunks and spread your challenge over the course of a week, or even the whole month.

What do I need to do
We are currently closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19/Coronavirus as we want to ensure that fundraising packs we send out are as relevant as possible.

So, for now, pop us an email to let us know you’d be keen to hear more about it, and in the early Summer we will be back in touch with more details and your Walk with us, Walk for AS pack. You can email us at

In the meantime, you can of course start thinking about your walk route, or who you can recruit to walk with you.

Whatever the circumstances, the team here at NASS would love to have your support in this campaign and together, we will walk for everyone in the UK living with axial SpA (AS).
