Freeman Hospital

  • A well established axial SpA (AS) clinic runs every Monday afternoon, with input from the multidisciplinary team including an axial SpA (AS) specialist nurse, occupational therapist and specialist extended scope physiotherapist
  • The department have excellent links with other specialists in Newcastle, including gastroenterology, dermatology and ophthalmology
  • There are opportunities to take part in clinical trials and other research studies
  • Rheumatologists with an interest in axial SpA (AS) are Dr Ben Thompson and Dr Lesley Kay
  • The department is a large, successful and friendly rheumatology department which is also the regional centre for specialised commissioning in rheumatology
