North Devon District Hospital

  • There is a multidisciplinary team comprising of rheumatologists, clinical nurse specialists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists. They are based at North Devon District Hospital
  • There are consultant and specialist nurse clinics throughout the week
  • Weekly joint injection clinics
  • Satellite clinics in local community hospitals
  • After initial diagnosis, all patients are seen by specialist physiotherapists who offer an in depth education session on axial SpA (AS)
  • Further sessions covering fatigue and flare management are available with the physiotherapy team when required
  • All patients have access to the hydrotherapy pool
  • The department are in the process of exploring the use of virtual clinics for patients who are not always able to attend the hospital
