COVID19: Shielding advice

Information on the updates to government advice on shielding

On 22nd June, the government announced steps to relax guidance on shielding for people in England who are living with underlying severe health conditions and need to be protected from coronavirus (COVID-19).

People in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland should continue to follow the guidance for those nations.

From Monday 6 July, those shielding in England can spend time outdoors in a group of up to six people (including those outside of their household).

Advice for people shielding in England will be further relaxed from Saturday 1 August, and people can go to work, go to the shops or places of worship, as long as social distancing can be maintained.

If you are worried about the changes, take it one step at a time. This useful guide from ARMA provides more information about the changes and will help you make the right decisions on going outside.
