Remembering Rachel
“Her commitment was unwavering. No matter how she was feeling, Rachel showed up with determination, with humour, and with a willingness to support others on their own journeys with axial SpA.”

Rachel joined the NASS Colchester branch five years ago, and very quickly became one of its most treasured members. The team has decided to take part in this year’s Walk Your AS Off to raise funds for NASS in her honour:
“Rachel joined our group over five years ago, and from the very first session she attended, she became an irreplaceable part of our community. Rachel wasn’t simply a participant, she was a bright presence, a constant source of warmth, and someone who truly lit up the room every single Tuesday. Whether she was joining in at our regular sessions or taking part in one of our many branch events, Rachel brought enthusiasm, positivity, and a genuine kindness that made everyone around her feel welcome.
Her commitment was unwavering. No matter how she was feeling, Rachel showed up with determination, with humour, and with a willingness to support others on their own journeys with axial SpA. She was the kind of member every group wishes they had. hard‑working, encouraging, reliable, and full of character. Those qualities were felt by all of us, even if we knew her for only a small part of her story.
What we will remember most is how effortlessly she connected with people. Rachel had a gift for making others feel seen and included. She brought laughter with her, she listened deeply, and she contributed so much to the sense of togetherness within our group. Her presence made our branch better, warmer, kinder, and stronger.
We will miss Rachel dearly, her smile, her humour, her energy, and the way she made Tuesday evenings brighter simply by being there. She leaves behind a lasting legacy in our group, and we are grateful for every moment we shared with her.
To Steve, Rachel’s family and to all who loved her, we send our heartfelt condolences and all our love.
Rachel will always remain part of our NASS family.
With love,
NASS Colchester Branch”

We thank Rachel for her dedication and commitment to improving the lives of people affected by axial SpA. She will always be remembered by the NASS community.
