Cost: Annual member £12 per year and then £2 per session
The Plymouth branch was founded in 1983 by Dr. Peter Hickling. Anyone with a diagnosis from a UK consultant of axial spondyloarthritis (Axial SpA) or ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in the Plymouth area is very welcome to come and join us.
Every Wednesday evening in Derriford Hospital we have alternate hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions. We are supervised by our marvellous NHS physiotherapists and we all work to our strengths. We can ask any advice from the physios, who are only too keen to help us to keep as active as we can. We also meet once a week for a social stretch.
We hold social activities through the year as these help to promote feelings of well being and camaraderie. We have fun, which is a good way to support one another and to spread the word about Axial SpA.
